Following are links to some of the organizations that are working closely with the Annie E. Casey Foundation on the Neighborhood Transformation / Family Development Initiative and Making Connections. These links lead to other Web sites, some are not controlled or maintained by the Foundation.
A Community Health Resource
Each year, the Annie E. Casey Foundation brings together community health clinics and other organizations from around the country to share information, build professional relationships, and learn from presentations in a variety of topical areas. Titled Community Health Summits, the events have been held annually since 1999 at AED's conference center in Washington, DC.
In an effort to facilitate continued peer exchange and networking among the Making Connections and other Casey-related sites on this topic, the Foundation developed an interactive website for its grantees. This website provides an opportunity to share community health documents and resources, participate in on-line discussions, and exchange best practices with colleagues.
Casey Family Services
Another arm of Casey focused on foster care, adoption and family issues.
Earned Income Tax Credit

Pathways Mapping Initiatives
The Pathways Mapping Initiative is part of Harvard University's Project on Effective Interventions. The website, developed in partnership with the Making Connections' Technical Assistance Resource Center (TARC), is called "Pathways To Outcomes." It provides an extensive collection of information about "what works" to improve targeted outcomes for children and families. The website seeks to strengthen the capacity of community groups, funders, policymakers, and service providers. Each Pathway displays actions that lead to measurable progress. The initial Pathway contains information about effective community efforts to ensure that all children are ready for school at the time of school entry. The second Pathway, to be ready in late spring 2003, focuses on efforts that lead to family economic success.
The Alliance for Children and Families
The Alliance for Children and Families is an international membership association representing more than 350 private, nonprofit child- and family-serving organizations. Alliance members serve more than 5 million individuals annually in more than 2,000 communities, providing a vast array of services ranging from residential care to domestic abuse prevention and intervention. The Alliance’s mission is to strengthen members’ capacity to serve and advocate for children, families, and communities. The Alliance formed in October, 1998.
Time Dollar Institute
The Time Dollar Institute's mission is to develop, test, and assist experiments with a new medium of exchange, Time Dollars (also known as service credits or time banking), designed to reward altruism, to turn strangers into extended family, to rebuild community and to empower persons discarded as useless to define themselves as contributors helping to meet critical social needs.
The Promising Practices Network
The Promising Practices Network highlights information on programs and practices that are effective in helping children, families, and communities. Their goal is to give clear, practical information that will help increase the positive impact of this work on people's lives. The information included in the Network is organized around several result areas, or successful outcomes, associated with the well-being of children and families.
